Objectives

  • Suggesting academic programs, identifying the training courses demanded by the job market, developing programs and preparing academic plans and specifications according to "the guide for designing, developing and reviewing academic programs" adhering to the highest academic quality standards. 

  •  Supervising, enhancing and reviewing the academic programs. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Supervising the proposal, development, and approval process of academic programs at Applied College.
  • Overseeing the identification, design, and proposal of training programs aimed at enhancing trainees' efficiency.
  • Managing the preparation of study plans and program specifications aligned with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
  • Submitting all approved programs to the Standing Committee for Curriculum and Programs at Applied College.
  • Ensuring programs and courses meet the highest educational standards.
  • Periodically reviewing programs for development and alignment with the labor market, in coordination with relevant units.
  • Ensuring each program is associated with a professional certificate, in collaboration with the Professional Certificates Unit.
  • Contributing to the preparation of the Strategic Plan and Annual Report of Applied College.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Executive and Operating Plan of Applied College for the unit.
  • Compiling Annual Reports for the unit.
  • Fulfilling other responsibilities within the unit's purview as directed by the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
