1- New and launched academic programs for 2025

New academic programs were introduced and some of which are were recently updated and started, while others are still under development in order to keep up with labor market needs and academic developments.

• English language diploma,  A developmental necessity the percentage of  approval is 85.95% 

Among the newly introduced programs at the Applied College for the academic year 1447 AH, the English Language Diploma Program received classification from the ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. the program comprises of 66 credit hours, distributed across four academic levels.

Program mission and objectives: The mission of the program is to prepare and qualify specialized cadres proficient in using the linguistic and practical skills required in the field of English, in a manner that meets labor market needs and regional development objectives, and contribute to community service.

The English Language Diploma seeks to:

• Equip students with core English skills such as, Listening, Speaking, reading and Writing.
• Enhance effective communication and creative thinking through the development of academic, professional, and social communication characterized by confidence and fluency, in line with the evolving labor market requirements for English language proficiency.
• Prepare students for lifelong learning by strengthening independent learning skills for continuous language development.
• Build community partnerships that contribute to the development and service of the local community in the field of English language education.

• Industrial Safety and Security program,  A developmental necessity the percentage of  approval is 88.3% 

Vision: Establishing a new and distinguished program.

Mission: To prepare specialized professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values in the field of industrial safety and security, 

Objectives:

1. - Provide outstanding and specialized students with essential knowledge, skills, and values in the field of industrial safety and security.
2. Promote the use of technologies in accordance with the latest international standards in industrial safety and security, achieving a balance between safety and economic efficiency.
3. Build community partnerships that contribute to the development and service of the local community in the field of industrial safety and security.

Awarded Qualification:  Intermediate Diploma in Renewable Energy Technology 

Program Credits: 71 credit hours, including two summer training periods.

• Renewable Energy Technology Program: A developmental necessity he percentage of  approval is 90.28% 

Vision: Establishing a new and distinguished program.

Mission: To provide a highly demanded program in renewable energy technology that meets labor market requirements. The program is committed to preparing qualified and specialized professionals in renewable energy technology, characterized by high professionalism grounded in strong ethical values and work ethics, to serve the energy sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 Objectives:

1. Prepare technicians in renewable energy technology with high professional competencies to meet labor market needs.
2. Develop innovative skills in renewable energy technology to keep pace with the latest developments in the field.
3. Produce highly professional technicians grounded in strong ethical values and professional conduct.
4. Enhance the services of the energy sector through renewable energy technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

• Environmental Protection Technology Program: A developmental necessity the percentage of  approval is 87.22% 

Mission: To prepare qualified technical professionals in the fields of environmental protection and sustainability by providing them with the theoretical and practical knowledge and hands on skills required to address contemporary environmental challenges and contribute effectively to achieving sustainable development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Objectives: 

• Equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in environmental protection and sustainability fields
• Prepare specialized technical professionals in environmental protection.
• Meet labor market needs across various environmental sectors.
• Promote environmental responsibility and encourage sustainable practices. 
• Encourage students’ participation in applied research on local environmental issues.
• Support the Kingdom’s efforts to protect the environment and achieve the environmental objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

• Chemical Engineering Technology Program: A developmental necessity the percentage of  approval is 90.67%. 

Mission: To prepare competent technicians in chemical engineering technology through high quality curricula that effectively integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application, while meeting labor market requirements and supporting community services at both local and national levels.

Objectives:

• Provide students with foundational knowledge and professional skills required for effective performance in the practical aspects of chemical engineering
• Develop students’ ability to understand, operate, and analyze production processes and operational systems within the chemical industry..
• Equip students with the competencies needed to conduct chemical tests, perform precise measurements, and analyze experimental results..
• Prepare graduates to work efficiently in diverse professional environments, with a strong commitment to ethical standards, social responsibility, legal considerations, and professional obligations in the field of chemical engineering.

• Early Childhood Program: A developmental necessity the percentage of  approval is 81.82%. 

Mission: To prepare qualified technical cadres in the fields of environmental protection and sustainability by providing them with the theoretical and applied knowledge and practical skills necessary to address contemporary environmental challenges, and to contribute effectively to achieving sustainable development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
